Kevin Young grew up in Toronto Canada. While growing up, Kevin was always involved in different types of sports. His father is a high school teacher and basketball coach. Kevin has always been a natural athlete. KY started snowboarding at the age of 16 and started competeing shortly after in provincial events. As a result of his high placings in these events, he soon caught the attention of some of the top snowboard companies in the industry. He earned himself his first sponsorship with Westbeach Snowboard Canada. On his 19th birthday, Kevin left Ontario to compete in the Canadian Nationals, which took place in Lake Louise, Alberta. He placed 2nd in the halfpipe. After the nationals he found himself on a bus headed up to Whistler Mountain, BC. It wasn't long before people were asking each other, "Who the hell is that guy!?" Kevin has spent the last 5 years living in Whistler, where he is known for applying his freestytle skills to big mountain riding. Kevin plans on competeing in key events around the world, including the Westbeach Classic which is held in Whistler on April 6th, and 7th. Although competeing in contests is important to Kevin, he would like to focus more of his time filming and shooting with photographers. Nowadays it is hard to flip through a magazine or watch a video and not see Kevin sticking a sick rodeo flip or pulling a huge backside air. Kevin Young is one of the industries top professionals and is a nice guy. Wherever there is Kevin Young, there is snowboarding, and wherever there is snowboarding there is KEVIN YOUNG.
