Ben Moon is a freelance adventure and travel photographer based in Bend, Oregon. He enjoys capturing imagery that draws the viewer into the moment and communicates a high level of emotion.

Ben has been an athlete his entire life, from a grueling collegiate rowing career to his love for rock climbing and surfing today. Being an active participant in the sports he documents allows an intimate perspective into documenting athletes and their lifestyles.

Ben prefers to be hands-off with his subjects, which allows him to capture athlete’s emotions and movement in a raw and natural form. This philosophy is evident in his images, and has made his work a favorite of photo editors everywhere.

In early June, Ben's travels came to a halt when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. This disease rarely affects the young and athletic, yet at age 29, Ben is fighting this head on. He has undergone chemotherapy and radiation, major surgery, and is currently in the final rounds of intensive chemo. To help defray Ben's medical expenses, a fund has been set up.
