Reservations/Permits/Fees

Fees:
$20 per car entrance fee, good for both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. $12 per night per site, camping fee. Fees are also charged for watercraft, backcountry reservations (not permits) and snow planes.

Reservations/Permits:

  • Reservations may be made from January 1 to May 15 for group campsites.
  • Overnight stays in the backcountry require a free backcountry permit available at the Moose or Colter Bay Visitor Centers and the Jenny Lake Ranger Station.
  • Reservations may be made for backcountry campsites between January 1 and May 15, or up to 30 days ahead of your first nights stay.
  • Permits are required for motorized and non-motorized watercraft. They are available at Visitor Centers and Ranger Stations and a fee is charged.
  • A Wyoming fishing license is required for fishing in the park and several varieties of non-resident licenses are available. Licenses may be purchased in fishing stores in Jackson, Dornan's and at park marinas.
