Career Highlights
With his out-of-nowhere win at the 2001 Sea Otter Classic, Kyle was hailed as "the next Ryan Nyquist." He squeezes in NORBA competitions, World Cup contests, and global one-off events such as Red Bull Rampage. Kyle won the 2004 Red Bull Taxco Downtown with a 60ft gap jump as well as the 2005 Red Bull Valparaiso Downtown. But his most exciting competition was the 2004 World Junior Downhill Championships in France. Kyle's third-place finish was his first World Championship podium and the only downhill medal awarded to a U.S. rider.

(MZ) My most memorable experience in freeriding came when...(KS) I placed third in the Junior Men's World Downhill Champs in Les Gets, France, 2004.

I’ve been successful as a mountain bike free rider because...I love to ride and it's my passsion.

The last thought in my mind just before I start a race is...breathe....breathe...

I am most proud of...my buddy Cam Zink at the 2006 Crank Worx, where he placed 3rd in the Slopestyle event.

My experience has helped me...lot with the contests I go to. The more I compete, the better I do.

Confidence is something you...can gain with experience and practice.

I am different from most other guys in that I...am really just like a big teddy bear!

I live by the phrase..."You're either first, or you're last." - Ricky Bobby

With my younger brother, one piece of life advice I give him is..."Just try it..it won't hurt."
