Mountain Mail Dave Hahn: Relics of Everest
This week on MountainZone.com! Renowned climber and MountainZone.com columnist Dave Hahn takes you on a treasure hunt to Mount Everest. After the unbelievable finds on Everest in '99, including the stunning discovery of George Mallory's body, and further finds made on another Eric Simonson-led expedition to the north side in 2001, Hahn couldn't have foreseen the significance of the relics he and Simonson found last spring at Base Camp on the Nepal side. "I lifted out a packing label then saw 'Mount Everest Expedition 1953' as clear and pristine as the day it was shipped 50 years before."

Eco-Challenge 2002!

Atlas Shreds was a Berber delight. "In the winter it is a freeride fairy tale out of '1001 Nights.'"

BOARD: Pushing It
"There was a lot of activity on the face, so we had to climb behind the ridge lines to protect ourselves from rock fall."
