Mountain Mail One-Legged Wolfe an Inspiration
This week on MountainZone.com, we bring you the inspirational tale of Brett Wolfe, just back the eight-day adidas Trans Alp Challenge. At 569- kilometers with 19,708 meters of elevation gain, this race has hike-a-bike ascents and Formula One descents, all the more grueling for the one-legged Wolfe. Plus, Vern Tejas isn't slowing down as he crisscrosses the planet to cybercast live his climbs around the world. Also new this week: Climb Castleton Tower's Kor-Ingalls Route... or at least try...

MT. BIKE: Brett Wolfe
"Riding with only one leg makes relaxing and recovering while climbing more difficult though not impossible."

CLIMB: Kilimanjaro
"We just [drove] from downtown Nairobi all the way down to the booming little metropolis of Arusha ..."

CLIMB: Castleton Tower
"Inching upward through a narrow 5.8 chimney I wormed my way into constrictions more fit for a marmot..."

TRAILS: Trail Finder
A vast database we've created with our partners at Trails.com of over 30,000 trails in North America.
