Daron Rahlves Injured in Freeskiing Accident
Skier in California for Alpine Championships

World super G ski racing champion Daron Rahlves was injured Tuesday in a freeskiing accident at Squaw Valley, where the Chevy Truck U.S. Alpine Championships will open later this week. Rahlves was treated at the Tahoe Forest Hospital in nearby Truckee for a dislocated hip.

Rahlves, of Sugar Bowl, CA was skiing recreationally with friends at Squaw Valley when the injury occurred. He was taken to the clinic at Squaw Valley before being transported to the hospital in Truckee. He was diagnosed as having a dislocation of his right hip. Doctors were successful in reducing (putting back in place) his hip and were evaluating if there were any additional injuries.

His recovery time and status for the upcoming Chevy Truck U.S. Alpine Championships was not known.
