Namaste, this is Barbara Wentworth, physical education teacher for the Kettle Moraine School District, checking in at the Mountain Zone. Today is Wednesday and we have traveled from Thyangboche to Dingboche, which is an altitude gain up to 14,000 about 100 feet. We're above tree line now, so we're in the tundra. I am looking at Island Peak in the distance and we're up kind of on a plateau, a little bit above the village of Dingboche.

We're going to be exploring the village tomorrow and I just wanted to let you know that the stars over here are pretty neat and if you know the John Denver song Shanghai Breezes, you'll understand what it means to be on this side of the world and see the same stars as you're probably seeing.

We had a chance to see the monastery and had a chance to listen to the monks doing their chanting at Thyangboche. There is a recently...about the 1980s it had burned down and they rebuilt it and it's just absolutely a stunning monastery.

For today, we'd like to have you check in at the Mountain Zone and take our progress, our group is having a great time. It's a great group to be with. People here are all healthy and well and maintaining their stamina throughout the whole trip. So check in at the Mountain Zone. There's some good pictures that are being sent and we'll see you tomorrow.
