Well we're gear heads what can we say. Last summer we were planning a week long, multi-sport adventure trip to Moab. Generally we can fit most of our toys in and above our SUV. But with the full Monty- 2 sets of bikes, kayaks and loads of climbing and hiking gear-well you get the picture.
That's when we turned to Adventure Sports Products in Arvada, CO, builders of some of the best travel trailers available.
After kickin' the tire of several models we choose Adventure Sports' SRT model. These trailers make it an cinch to transport all your goodies be it mountain biking, camping or any type of outdoor recreation gear. The SRT's lightweight and very low rolling resistance allows it to be easily towed behind any SUV or pickup.
The SRT we tested has low centers of gravity that provide stability both on the highway and in off-road conditions. With its 17" Ground clearance to center of axle and maximum payload capacity: of 3700 lbs, this baby can really haul the loads. Available options include complete rack mounting systems for carrying additional equipment. The rack options include mounting systems to carry bikes, kayaks, skis, surfboards, or storage boxes, etc. Try doing that with typical camping trailers.
Once reaching Moab we simply unhitched and parked it at our buddy John's. We all then piled in and after some light-four wheelin', headed into Moab for some fun. Maybe most convenient, we stored all our gear in the SRT without having to load and unload my rig. It's super easy to load, especially with 200 lb kayaks!
The hardtop provides lockable storage space, a big plus when thousands of dollars of gear is inside. Adventure Sports also has the WST model, which will carry all you're windsurfing or surfing gear- and all safely locked inside.
