Brunton Solar Roll
Solar power in the field

My partner, Matt, and I recently completed an epic, two-week hike from the base of Oregon's Mt. Hood to Mt. Bachelor, which took us deep into pristine wilderness. To keep in touch with Matt's parents, our support crew, we brought along our satellite phone and our newly purchased Brunton Solar Roll, a neat solar powering device that kept our phone juiced up.

The 12"X57" Solar Roll produces up to 14 watts of power, more than enough to charge our phone as well as our digital camera and GPS batteries. When not in use, we simply rolled the matt up into a 3" diameter tube, which came included. It proved to be easy to pack and carry.

Made with Tefzel Floropolymer construction and waterproof, the Solar Roll even generates enough volts of power to charge larger items such as laptops computers or SUV batteries. And it's much quieter and lighter than a gas-powered generator.

Features:

  • Max output = 14 watts
  • Includes several adaptor cables for different devices
  • UV transparent
  • Link multiple units together for increased power
  • Custom lengths with varying power output available
  • One-year warranty
