Introduction:

First impressions are important, but in the case of toesocks they may not be as important as we are led to believe. Honestly, I had never tried, let alone even considered wearing a pair of toe-socks before I tried these on. But there they were. My feet were cold. Why not? First impression: weird. Weird and complicated. Did I mention they feel a little weird?

And toesocks are complicated. Unlike pretty much every other sock I have ever worn, these socks have a definite anatomical polarity to them. The right sock on the left foot leads to footwear catastrophe, and no one wants that. And once these socks are on, well, they take some getting used to. But I found that I got used to them faster than I expected.

Once the initial weirdness mostly wore off, I found that these socks did in fact live up to their claim of providing great moisture control by surrounding every toe individually. I have never had blistering between my toes, but with the added material between every toe I could definitely see the appeal of this protection. These socks advertise a proprietary silver-compound in the fabric itself that works to cut down odor, and after wearing these bad boys for several days I have to admit that the fabric really does resist stink wonderfully. All around, these socks really are wam, dry, snug and comfortable, but do require some getting used to.

Pros:
  • Warm
  • No skin-on-skin rubbing or blisters
  • Anti-odor fabric works well
  • Elastic to keep sock at upper calf works very well
Cons:
  • Takes some getting used to
  • Cannot be machine dried
  • Takes above average effort to put on and take off
Bottom-Line:

Unlike anything you have ever worn. Some people swear by these, but they do take some getting used to. Worth the effort though, what have you got to lose by trying on a new pair of socks?
