Running shoes can make or break your experience on the trail. With the Salomon XT Wings you are assured a blister-free bounce through the woods, no matter the terrain or weather conditions.
Right out of the box these shoes gave my feet comfortable, even support, enhanced by the complete cushioning provided by the OrthoLite foam insoles. After a long day on the trail, up and down rocky and slippery slopes, they proved their worth by maintaining a solid grip and sturdy support. The shoes are also very light weight, so I barely remembered they were there.
Even after several hours, my feet stayed cool and dry, well ventilated by the multitude of tiny holes which perforate all sides of the shoe. And despite many splashes through muddy rain puddles, I was able to return to the car at the end of the day with completely dry socks.
The Salomon XT Wings also sport the clever Quicklace lacing system which allows you to easily tighten and loosen the laces in just a couple seconds. In addition, the top of the tongue has a flap, under which you can tuck the end of the lace loop so as you run there is zero lace flopping.
With solid foot support, light weight, and excellent grip, this shoe holds up well on day-long trail expeditions, in a variety of weather situations. It also works well as a city shoe because of its well-cushioned sole and ventilation structure. The comfort and versatility of the Salomon XT Wings have made it my primary footwear.
