Good morning to everybody from Camp III at near 24,000 feet here on the Lhotse Face of Everest. It's been a beautiful morning. Started the stoves just a little before 5 at our tent and it allowed me to kind of gaze out at the first blessed light on the fluted faces and icewalls of Lhotse. It's a very, very beautiful sight.
It's very calm here today. It sounds like we'll have a good morning and possibly a bit of cloud, much like what we had yesterday when we were coming up to Camp III. Everybody slept well on oxygen last night. It's always a unique experience to see what difference that makes although it does tend to dry one out a bit, at least it does me.
But I think everybody is up and thinking about packing for the Sherpas, ha-ha. Karl over here in the next tent is shaking his head at me, he doesn't want to get out of his sleeping bag and relinquish his oxygen mask. But real soon we're going to have Sherpa assistance up here to help us move to Camp IV, our high camp at the South Col, just under 26,000 feet. I know we're all looking forward to that and our continuing quest for the summit push here.
So that's the status at this point, from 24,000 feet up the Lhotse Face here on Mount Everest for this morning.
