Hello there Mountain Zoners. Another strenuous day of rest and recuperation, and a well-timed one at that. High winds have been pounding the upper mountain; many reports of flattened and shredded tents have been coming to us via refugees bailing off the upper slopes.
Base Camp is full once again as teams evaluate their options and wait for the weather to settle. Our
Sherpa team is to fix lines on the Lhotse face only as weather permits and that may be several days in coming as weather reports are not encouraging.
So here we will stay, biding our time and making new red blood cells in preparation for our next acclimatization push. Team members are doing well and thank you all for thoughts and prayers.
Patiently,
Vern Tejas, Alpine Ascents International Guide and MountainZone.com Correspondent
