Hello cybernauts this Vern Tejas with Alpine Ascents Mount Everest Expedition. It's the 8th and today, we've moved up. Yesterday we went from Tengboche all the way up to the big, bustling metropolis of Dingboche.

On our way we crossed over the bridge of the Dudh Kosi, it's festooned with prayer flags and scarves, the kind of scarves that we have been blessed with. Several of our members left theirs there, so that each time the wind blows, a prayer is said for us.

When we got to Pangboche the monk, the lama, who lives there was able to actually perform a service for us and blessed every one of our members and tied a red string around his neck, a sungdi is what it's known as, and again, placed khata scarves around our necks to bless us on our way. He's going to pray for us and our safe success on the mountain daily, so we will really appreciate that.

We made our way up to Dingboche later that afternoon as a storm followed us up the valley and just as we got to our inn, our lodge, it began to snow and sleet and continued to do so over the evening. We were very happy to get here and we're looking forward to a rest day. Everybody seems to be in very good spirits and wants to tell their loved ones they're thinking of them.

Thank you very much for following us, this is Vern Tejas, at 4325 meters above sea level in Dingboche, Nepal.
