Hello Mountain Zone, this is Vernon Tejas with Alpine Ascents Mount Everest 2000. It was a full day today. Unlike the last week where we've been acclimatizing down low, we actually did some climbing today back up through the Icefall to Camp I. Of course that Icefall is full of towering spires of ice seracs and also bottomless crevasses, so it made for interesting climbing. We're all happy to be here and we did it in record time, knocking two hours off our original ascent time; it all took us about seven hours to get to Camp I — very happy to be here.

Unfortunately, Stacy could not make it. He's had a knee injury and he's going to be staying down at Base Camp and working with communications and also as our Sherpa liaison. We're really going to miss him up here on the mountain. So we just wanted everybody to know that Stacy is going to be working hard and we're going to continue our carrying on with Stacy's projects up high on the mountain, as well.

We're looking forward to another beautiful day tomorrow. Finally, the winds have dropped from the 80-knots they were the other day and we have very clear, calm weather. And we're looking forward to pushing up to Camp II where we'll continue our acclimatization schedule. We work these in cycles so that there ultimately will be three cycles where we go up high and then back down low and then up high again in order to get in shape physically for the summit.

For those of you who are interested in numbers, we've got them. This morning, of course, we were down at Base Camp, the oxygen saturation was still quite high, 84, and our pulse rate average for the group was at 77. As I mentioned, it is clear, it's calm and it's also very warm; it's now only -4 degrees centigrade, and we're having a great time.

So stay tuned and we'll catch you tomorrow right here on Mountain Zone. We're wishing you all the best from Mount Everest. Ciao.
