This week's bird report, with a much lower count than when we were lower. Still have lots of feathered friends though. I was hoping to see Tibetan snow cocks when we passed through Gorak Shep. We've seen them there before but this time no luck. They are a spectacular large bird with black and white striped flanks. We saw many breeding pairs in Everest Base Camp on the Tibetan side in 1990 so maybe they'll show up as spring progresses.

Bird observations: Jungle crow, Yellow-billed choughs, Red-billed choughs, Alpine accentor, Brown accentor, Great rose finch

Expedition Update
Upper Lobuche to Base Camp
Dates: April 14 to April 20
Elevation: from 5050 meters to 5300 meters (approximate) 16,560 ft. to 17,600 ft.
Habitat: Rocky glacial moraine, occasional dry grassy meadows

Saludos to you all.
