Editor's Note: This is a transcript
of a radio conversation between Simone Moro
near the South Col and Mark Dwyer,
Quokka Sports/MountainZone.com correspondent,
at Base Camp.

Mark: Yes, Simone this is Mark. How are you doing?

Simone: I am in Geneva Spur, I believe in 40 minutes I will be in South Col. Over.

Mark: Excellent, you're making good progress.

Simone: [coughs] We start this morning at 3 o'clock., after we complete [Unintelligible] which take a half an hour. And now, I'm on the last 300 meters, about 300 meters....and then begin the long traverse to go to South Col. The weather is bad. This morning was good, but now is all cloudy. Over.

Mark: Are you and Denis both healthy?

Simone: Yes, yes, together. Denis now is one hundred meter from me...I stop to use the radio. Do you have some news from your team? Over.

Mark: Yes, our team stayed at the South Col last night. They did not attempt the summit. Byron Smith made the summit this morning, and maybe Babu, we haven't heard from him. So our team is still sitting in the South Col.

Simone: So your team will rest one day more in the South Col you think. Over.

Mark: They will probably leave for the summit tonight.

Simone: They will try tonight for the summit, right?

Mark: That's affirmative. Is that your plan also?

Simone: Yes, also my plan. The only thing is, me and Denis we are a little tired. Not little. We are tired, because every time is, South Col is bad load, but we have again refueled, but....anyway, I will call you again after three hours, okay.

Mark: Okay, say hi to our guys up there at Camp IV

Simone: Okay, I'll put down my fork...
