1. HOW TO ENTER: This Ouray Ice Climbing Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") begins on 1/07/03 and ends on 2/06/03 (the "Entry Period"). To enter this Sweepstakes, visit http://www.mountainzone.com and follow the instructions to enter. Limit one entry per person per email address per day. All entries must be received by 2/06/03. Entries made with multiple email addresses, under multiple identities or through the use of any agent or other device or artifice to enter multiple times per day will be deemed invalid. Use of any automated software is prohibited.
2. PRIZES: (1) Grand Prize: A 2 day ice climbing instructional class conducted by Mountain Madness guides Christine Boskoff and Charlie Fowler on February 22nd and 23rd, 2003 at Ouray, Colorado. Grand Prize will include hotel and transfers in Ouray. Approximate retail value ("ARV"): $1,000. Winner is responsible for transportation to Ouray. Certain restrictions apply. All other costs not specifically noted herein are the responsibility of the winner. All prizes will be awarded. Limit one prize per household.
Two Runner-up prizes will also be awarded. The first runner-up prize will be 1 Patagonia Stretch Element Jacket. The second runner-up prize will be 1 Black Diamond headlamp.
3. RANDOM DRAWING: Potential winners will be selected in a random drawing to be held on or about 02/07/03 by MountainZone.com, from among all eligible entries received. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
4. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes open to residents of U.S. 18 years of age and older, except employees of MountainZone.com and Mountain Madness (Sponsors), its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, persons living in the same household, and the families of each. Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws apply. Entrants release and hold harmless MountainZone.com, its parent company Vertical Media Group, Inc., affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, and their employees, officers, directors and shareholders from any claims, actions, injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or from the acceptance or use of any prize awarded.
5. GENERAL: By participating in this promotion, entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. In case of a dispute as to the owner of an online entry, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address from which the entry is made. Authorized account holder is deemed as the natural person assigned to an email address by the internet access provider, service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Potential winners must sign any required Winner's Agreement and Release within 3 days of attempted delivery or prize will be forfeited and an alternate selected. Winners will be notified by email approx. 2/8/03. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted, unless prize is generally unavailable at Sweepstakes' end, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted. All taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. Acceptance of prize offered constitutes permission to use winner's name and/or likeness for advertising/trade purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. If, in the judges' opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Sweepstakes, the judges reserve the right to terminate the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all entries received as of the date of termination.
