Transcript:
Hi guys, this is Craig Calonica, and I'm back.

I went down for two days to get rid of some kind of bug I picked up on the way here from God knows where. It was throat chest fungus, it was a steaming, burning head fever. Got rid of it within twenty-four, fourty-eight hours. But in that time it started snowing and raining and continued — with no traffic coming or going — until today and then I was rescued. Someone came down form base camp and got me. It's only a few hours away from this village. Anyway, I'm back, I'm healthy, and I'm going to be back for quite a while.

Everyone around here seems to be doing pretty well, Since I've been gone for four days, five days, seems like quite a few people around here have developed a hack — but that's to be expected with the weather that's been happening here lately. It's been snowing down to 4000 meters, 4500 meters, somewhere in there. Wet, cold, damp-type weather. And you get a bunch of stuffy, sneezy, watery-eyed, coughing people.

Other than that, everything looks in order. We're leaving here in a couple days as soon as we get everything organized. Already a few of our Sherpas and the first load of sixteen yaks have gone up to ABC [advance base camp] and we'll be joining them as soon as we can if weather permits. Hope you're all okay, and hello from Jim Bridwell, Martina, and myself. Adios!

— Craig Calonica, Expedition Leader
