So, This is Antarctica Wednesday, December 15, 1999
Hi there, this is Fran from Vinson Base Camp in Antarctica. I have a message from Willi Prittie: They're still held up at Camp II, which is at 10,100ft on Vinson. The weather is improving slightly, but not overly a lot. Hugh Morton, one of the party there, has determined that they are actually in Antarctica because of the weather. Update on the weather we encounter at Patriot Hills, yesterday experiencing 80-knot winds and no visibility that gives you an indication of what storm winds sometimes can be like. Willi's party has plenty of supplies...[Unintelligible]...lots of good food and, again, will try to move tomorrow weather and snow conditions permitting. Okay, thank you. Bye-bye.
