Hello, this is Jamie Pierce calling from 12,000, approximately 800 feet in the Karanga Valley. Didn't make a phone call yesterday; dealing with various things that come up on expeditions. Basically, the expedition is going very good at this point and the team is doing very well.

Yesterday was a big day for the group, because we broke a lot of altitude records for everybody, cresting at 14,500ft, and then sleeping last night at 12,800. Everyone performed really well, with not only the length of yesterday and the altitude, and then, of course, with the descent into the Barranco Valley, where we spent last night.

Everyone, as I said, is doing very well. The team is very happy with today's progress. Today we started out of the Barranco Valley and ended up here in the Karanga Valley, just below the Southern Icefield, the Kirsten Glacier and the [Unintelligible] Glacier, presenting very aesthetic beauty, and just the overall sheer magnitude of the mountain is very prevalent when you are right underneath the Southern Icefield as we are right now, 6:30 on the 26th.

So, pretty much, the group is getting very anxious and excited about tomorrow, for the hike up the Barafu. Of course, tomorrow night is the night that we wake up for the summit attempt. So we've been dealing with various topics relating to the presentation of that, mainly, just dealing with what to wear, how much to drink...[transmission fails]
