Moderately Bad Conditions Saturday, June 24, 2000
Hello Mountain Zone, this is Willi Prittie with the Alpine Ascents International Denali program. And just wanted to call in and check in from our expedition and we are here well placed at the 14,200-foot camp. We've been here for two days and our expedition consists of Jennifer Bowden, Don Taylor, Conor Rafferty, Martin Grieder, Phillip Schroeder, Mona Patel, Eric Larson and myself. It's a very, very strong group. We climbed through some moderately bad conditions in the upper Kahiltna Glacier, but had no real weather-delayed days of any sort, so we're making very, very good time up here. Have taken a couple of acclimation days here and we're going to be heading up very soon. We're standing here looking up at Denali, but you know everyone's coming here for Denali, so we've decided we're going to do something completely different and go climb Denali instead. Hey, hey wait a minute what are you guys doing pointing all of your ice axes at me... No, no, no!
