Clearing Weather May Bring Summits Wednesday, June 21, 2000
Hey Mountain Zone, this is Matt Szundy and Tom Bridge, from Alpine Ascents International, on our way between Camp I and Camp II, on Mount McKinley, where this is day one of our carry. Last night it snowed about eight inches in the middle of the night, and we're sort of breaking trail today, all day, up to Camp II to leave a cache up there and then we're going to move back down to Camp I and have a huge dinner and relax. It's a beautiful, sunny day today pretty windy up high this morning. The winds have died down a fair bit and it looks like it might be a nice summit evening, if anyone's up at high camp. This will be Matt Szundy standing by and Tom Bridge and the rest of the last Alpine Ascents expedition for the 2000 Denali season. Talk to you later, bye.
