Hi everybody there on Mountain Zone, this is Scott Darsney, at 14,000 feet, with Alpine Ascents, here with Luis and Matt, reporting in for today Sunday, the 11th. Today was pretty windy day up here, we had, I'd say, 50- to 60-knot winds up on the summit, the summit ridge. Today was a planned rest day, anyway, so we just kind of slept in 'till about 10 o'clock this morning, listening to "Prairie Home Companion" on NPR. Brought up a bunch of bagels and cream cheese with Canadian bacon and hung out all day, visiting with friends, other guides, other people, and kind of kicking back and getting prepared for a summit bid.

We were hoping to go up tomorrow, but conditions don't look so good to allow it — to the forecast, but I don't have much faith in the forecast — the forecast — just stick your head outside the tent in the morning. Tonight's dinner we had lentil curry Thai style, very nice. We also just kind of kicked back and enjoyed a nice sunset this evening. I'd also like to say on behalf of Greg: 'Hello' to Sadie and Dwayne Paulson of Minnesota. Greg's one of our people here we're taking up on the climb and apparently they've got a computer, so 'Hi' to Sadie and Dwayne.

Also, today, we had kind of a neat experience: we had a group photo. We had a lot of well known and infamous climbers and personalities up here, and Roger Robinson, the ranger up here, and Joe Reichert, kind of gathered a whole bunch of us — and I'm not worthy to be a part of this list, but there were some amazing people in this group photo. We had all the mountain guides up here and people such as Pete Athans, Dr. Peter Hackett, Dr. Howard Donner, Marty Raney, Mark Twight, Scott Backes, there was a whole bunch of fun folks up here and too many to mention totally here. We had Colby and Katelain up here, and Mike Wood and Les Lloyd, a lot of fun folks. So it was kind of neat troop photo — there were more cameras out than anything — and we did it just before the sun went around the cliff here.

Another thing that I wanted to mention here is I just had a 100-page website launched Mountain World Images, it's mntworld.com, you can email me there. And also check out my photography site, on the Mountain Zone, as it's just been revamped and I hope you take a look at some of the photos there. I've got some neat Denali photos in there, as well as the new website, which you can take a look at. So anyway, that is about it for today, Sunday, the 11th. No real exciting rescues or problems...[transmission fails].
