Hey this is Matt Szundy checking in from 14.2 on Denali. Had a great day yesterday, got a party to [Unintelligible] to 13.5 [Unintelligible] back into camp. Pete Athans [Unintelligible] working for the Park Service, requested my help to [Unintelligible] on the headwall, so we hammered up...[transmission fails].

Hey this is Matt continuing the cybercast, just telling about the rescue last night. By the time I got back into camp, it was around 8:30, from replacing the fixed lines. Got to bed at around midnight and around 2 in the morning Bill woke me up and explained the situation: there was a Taiwanese person [Unintelligible] actually a Hong Kongian person with some HACE and HAPE symptoms, at Washburn Sum, at around 16.5. So we left camp around 3 in the morning and hammered all the way back up the Headwall and to the top of the fixed line. We were able to pack up the patient [Unintelligible] great rescue [Unintelligible] climbers involved, guides from [Unintelligible] and everything, but it was very tiring.

Gorgeous though to watch the sunrise hit Mt. Hunter and the alpenglow on Foraker — it was beautiful. So that was my day yesterday — long day. Got back into my sleeping bag around 8:30 in the morning and all is well here. The patient is doing fine and adjusting to the lower altitude and hopefully we'll be getting him lower. But anyway, this is Matt Szundy at 14.2 on Denali checking in for Alpine Ascents. Take care.
