Jacobellis Takes Second Despite Deep Cut
Ben Jacobellis (Bondville, VT) battled through a deep cut in his left leg suffered just after the finals start to take second in the first
of two snowboard cross World Cups in Arosa Friday. According to team doctor Melinda Roalstad, he was taken to a nearby hospital in Chur for
further examination. Ben is the second Jacobellis to land a World Cup SBX podium in two weeks after younger sister Lindsey won her first
World Cup race in Bad Gastein, Austria on Jan. 5.
Reigning World Champion and current SBX points leader Karine Ruby of France took the women's race, while Maria Danielsson of Sweden, Tanja
Frieden of Switzerland and Zoe Gillings of Great Britain went 2-3-4. No American women competed.
