Hi this is Mike Roberts and Matt Walker for Alpine Ascents Denali 9. Today team vegeMIGHT are heading up to Camp IV at 17,000'. The winds have reduced enough to allow to make this a feasible option. The upper mountain from 18,000 to the summit is still getting buffeted by very strong winds. So we're going to be on one of the most specatuclar parts of the climb, between 16 and 17,000.
"...this section we're likely to have some wind and we'll be walking right into it, so it will be a test for everyone..."

We do a series of three little rock steps, the final one being called Washburn's Bump, and then we have a long traverse into camp. This section we're likely to have some wind and we'll be walking into it, so it will be a test for everyone, and their endurance for the cold. Everybody is psyched, ready for it and the time is right. So as I speak, it is 10:35 in the morning, we're about to rope up and get out. At 14,000 conditions are calm and sunny. So we'll give you an update when we get to 17,000 or we may update on our way as to our progress.

So that's all for now. Cheers.
