Hey MountainZone, this is Matt Szundy calling from Mount McKinley. We are team Da Fine Dieter, Alp 10, and we're doing a back carry right now to 10,000' from our camp at 11,2 that we established last night. We're going to cruise back up with our full load of food and fuel to 11 camp and we're going to take a rest day this afternoon and make a carry tomorrow around Windy Corner.

"...they were using sort of wheelchairs on skis with an ascender to climb the fixed lines, so it was really an intense kind of climbing..."

So I just wanted to give you a quick update, say hi, and let you know there are some exciting things happening on on the mountain. The Russian team of paraplegics that some of you may remember from earlier in the season did summit. We saw them in Base Camp and forgot to mention it in the last cybercast. But that's kind of exciting that they pulled it off. They fixed the whole mountain, and were using, um, sort of wheelchairs on skis with an ascender to climb the fixed lines so it was really an intense kind of climbing and congratulations to them.

What else? I wanted to explain our name a little bit, team Da Fine Dieter. Well, Dieter is this mythical and perhaps real person, the person who is the skeptic about climbing, who doesn't believe that we can now pull it off. Dieter is the person who has to ask why you climb, and the team members here decided that should be a good name because of a run-in they had with a guy named Dieter who had a lot of skepticism and questions, and they thought it was pretty funny. So that's a little explanation about our name.

Other than that, the team members are doing great. We are super-strong, team of 8 will be moving to 14,2 probably the day after tomorrow, after we do our carry.

Until then, this is Matt Szundy from 10,000' on Denali, we'll talk to you soon.
