Hello, this is the next in the continuing series of cybercasts from Denali Alpine Ascents group 5 Das Boots and this is Brennan Brunner, half of the guiding team checking in again. I'm a single white male who enjoys hot drinks, long talks in the tent and building walls not taking them down.

Hey I'm calling again from the 14.2 camp. This is a real transition point on the mountain; this is about 13 miles away from base camp where the planes land and just short of 7,000 vertical feet in gain. We hauled sleds in a series of carries, as I believe you've heard in other cybercasts, to this point. This is where we really get on the mountain, the approach up to this point. We, two days ago, made a carry along the fixed lines up a 40- to 50-degree slope to 16,200 camp.

" It will be a very long day, but really very spectacular. This is where we ascend out of the West Buttress and really feel like we're climbing..."

And we plan on moving tomorrow up to 17.2. The weather has abated somewhat, the winds have definitely died down. While there are calls for about 3-6 inches of snow overnight I feel confident that if we.... the local conditions closely we can make a move, but we'll make that decision in the morning.

Otherwise we've spent, I believe, six days in this camp. Our spirits are high, we are well acclimatized and well rested. We stayed active each day, building some walls, moving around, telling stories and lies. So spirits are high and we're ready to go. So we will make another report tomorrow. Hopefully we will have made progress.

It will be a very long day, but really very spectacular. This is where we ascend out of the West Buttress and really feel like we're climbing. This should be our last high camp before we make our summit attempt. The weather is unsettled...play it conservative and we're watching it closely and we'll keep on pass it along to you.

We hope all is well and all group members again wish to send their love to family and friends, and I pass it along for myself and we'll talk to you soon. Hey, this is Brennan from the big hill, goodbye.
