Hello Peter, this is Jim Williams. I think you've been caught up to date. Today is Sunday, the 8th of December, 2002. And this is the Alpine Ascents International Ama Dablam 2002 Expedition, rolling back to Kathmandu.

Last night we, yesterday rather, we packed up Base Camp at Ama Dablam, and took our 17 yaks down to Pangboche. And last night, the group arrived, and they got their showers and their beers and their Coca-Colas and got all cleaned up and nicely organized. And then, when asked what they wanted for dinner, they wanted nothing more than hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Hamburger, cheeseburger.

So we cooked up some good yak burgers and cheeseburgers and french fries and a little fried rice and apple fritters for dessert. (We) had a big dinner, and then many friends from the Pangboche area came by and toasted everybody's success, with plenty of scotch and Johnny Walker Red and Everest whiskey.

Anyway, the party went on for hours, and finally folks went to bed around the late hour of 10 o'clock. Woke up this morning, and it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, not a cloud in the sky. There's a slight breeze. And the group has now taken off walking to from Pangboche to Porte, to Manla, to Khumjung to Namche Bazaar.

We should be in Namche Bazaar by tonight, Sunday night, and then Monday we will walk on to Lukla, on the 9th. And then we will fly out from Lukla, we hope, on the 10th.

We'll keep you up to date on all future developments, day to day. So I hope you get this, and I hope it's clear. Everybody else, bye-bye, and your crew will be seeing you soon. Bye.
