Hello MountainZone.com, this is Jim Williams with the Alpine Ascents International Ama Dablam 2002 Expedition, with an update for the 3rd of December, 2002.

We've split into two groups now, and Dave Morton with Randy Luskey and Chris (Nichols) have taken off for Camp III from Camp II this morning. And the sherpa had a small mishap, lost one of his inner boots in the morning, someone knocked it out of the tent, and so we had a spare pair, we sent up to him. And if it fits, he's going to continue on, otherwise, with the other sherpas with me, may continue up with them for summit day.

Scott Hoelscher is going to head home. He spent the last better part of two months here in the Nepal Himalaya, and gone to Tibet. He's decided that he's seen as much as he wants to see for the time being and he's headed home.

And the rest of us, well, we're packing up our gear and getting ready to move to Camp II tomorrow. We hope that the boys have a chance to summit and come down, at least to Camp II, and we're hoping to go to Camp III tomorrow and summit the following day.

So everything's in order here. We have crystal clear weather, which we hope holds for our summit bid. It's been a wonderful trip so far, and we look forward to just continuing in the same vein. Ok, MountainZone, we'll speak to you tomorrow.

Oh, by the way, Don or Scott may give the updates for the next couple of days, if they end up in Base Camp. We'll decide that a little bit later on, because you may be able to get more timely updates from them than from us.

Ok, take care. Bye-bye.

Jim Williams, Alpine Ascents International Guide and MountainZone.com Correspondent
